There were 799 Hispanic students enrolled in Cameron ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.1% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Cameron ISD schools welcomed 1,569 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 50.9% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Cameron ISD roughly covers schools within Milam County and has a main office in Cameron.

Among the four schools in Cameron ISD schools, Ben Milam Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 223 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.
