According to the latest information, in-state tuition at Temple College rose by 3.2% during the 2022-23 school year, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Texas residents paid $4,656 to attend the two-year public college in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.

Non-resident students faced a tuition rate 41.2% higher than that of residents in 2022-23, amounting to $6,576. This represented a 2.2% increase from $6,432 in the 2021-22 academic year.

Approximately 99% of the undergraduate student body at the college are Texas residents, while about 1% come from other states.

Data indicates that 79% of full-time undergraduates who enrolled at Temple College in 2022-23 received some form of student financial aid. A total of 264 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $1.5 million, and 76 students borrowed more than $352,172 in student loans.

Across all undergraduate students, 2,538 individuals received grants or scholarships totaling $13.2 million. Additionally, 997 students obtained federal student loans totaling $6.6 million.

Undergraduate education costs have seen a significant increase over the past few decades. Data shows a 169% rise in the average total cost, including tuition, fees, room, and board, between 1980 and 2020.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
