Hillary Hickland, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 55th district since 2025, recently posted several statements on her Twitter account covering topics from work attendance to business acquisitions.
On August 7, 2025, Hickland wrote, “Gotta show up to get paid.”
Two days later, on August 9, she commented on the ownership of a popular fast-food chain: “Fitting. Whataburger sold out to a Chicago company. Whataburger is owned by BDT Capital Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm. They acquired a majority stake in 2019 from the Dobson family, who founded the chain in 1950.”
Later that same day, Hickland posted another brief statement: “Speak for yourself, bro!”
Hickland assumed office in 2025 after winning election to replace Hugh Shine as representative for Texas’s 55th House district.
