The City of Belton has opened Phase 2 of its COVID-19 relief grants which could provide funding of up to $5,000 each to local businesses.

According to a press release, the city is making $240,000 in funding from federal CARES Act money available to Belton businesses through up to 48 grants.

The Central Texas Council of Governments states businesses that apply will need to supply information regarding their number of employees, the decline in revenue, and the pandemic's impact on their business. Applicants will also be asked about their planned use of the grant funding, whether they have received other grant funding, and if their business closed and/or had to run on limited capacity due to the pandemic.

Applications will be accepted until Nov. 13 at 5 p.m.
