CITY OF COPPERAS COVE: Zoning Ordinance Review Committee

City of Copperas Cove issued the following announcement on Dec. 2.

The City of Copperas Cove is accepting applications to fill positions on a newly created Zoning Ordinance Review Committee. The purpose of the City Council Appointed Advisory Body is to review Chapter 20 – Zoning of the Code of Ordinances, and make recommendations to the Planning and Zoning Commission for editing the regulations governing land use, zoning, and other matters related thereto.

The advisory body will consist of seven members, appointed to two-year staggered terms, and membership will include one (1) staff member as appointed by the City Manager, one (1) representative from City Council, two (2) representatives from the Planning and Zoning Commission, and three (3) locally recognized members of the business community, preferably having experience in urban planning, land development, engineering, architecture, real estate, construction, economic development, or local government. Meetings shall be held at least once every two years, but may be held more frequently as deemed necessary. Meeting locations, dates, and times have not yet been established.

Applications are available at 914 South Main Street, Suite D, or on the City website, www.copperascovetx.gov under “Forms and Applications”. The position vacancies will be advertised through January 1, 2021. Completed applications must be submitted to the office of the City Secretary by the submittal deadline, January 11, 2021 at 5pm for consideration.
