2021-22 School Year: What was most represented ethnicity in Lampasas County County schools?

Of the many ethnicities represented in Lampasas County County schools, white was the most prevalent ethnicity among Lampasas County County students in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of the 3,716 students attending Lampasas County County schools, 60.2% were white. Hispanic students were the second largest ethnicity, making up 31.2% of Lampasas County County students.

In the previous school year, white students still were the most common group in Lampasas County County, representing 61.3% of the student body.

Lampasas Middle School had the most even distribution of races among the county schools, including 61% white students, 29.1% Hispanic students, 6.2% Multi-racial students, 2.2% Black students, 0.7% Pacific Islander students, 0.5% Asian students, and 0.2% American Indian students.

In the 2021-22 school year, the total number of students enrolled in public schools in the county increased 0.3% when compared to the previous year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
