Enrollment at Jonesboro ISD schools increased by 8.3% compared to previous school year

There were 339 students enrolled in Jonesboro ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 8.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 55.5% of them were boys, and 44.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 86.4% of the Jonesboro ISD total enrollment.

Jonesboro ISD roughly covers schools within Coryell County with its main office in Jonesboro.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
