There were 8,615 students enrolled in Temple ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.1% of them were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Temple ISD students was Hispanic, accounting for 47.6% of the student population.

Temple ISD roughly covers schools within Bell County with its main office in Temple.

Among the 16 schools in Temple ISD, Temple High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,305 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
