Enrollment at Copperas Cove ISD schools decreased by 0.9% compared to previous school year

There were 8,043 students enrolled in Copperas Cove ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.2% of them were boys, and 49.8% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Copperas Cove ISD students was white, accounting for 35.8% of the student population.

Copperas Cove ISD roughly covers schools within Coryell County with its main office in Copperas Cove.

Among the 11 schools in Copperas Cove ISD, Copperas Cove High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,277 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
