There were two American Indian students enrolled in Priority Charter Schools District in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Priority Charter Schools District welcomed 751 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.3% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Priority Charter Schools District roughly covers schools within Bell County and has a main office in Morgans Point Resort.

Among the four schools in Priority Charter Schools District, Cove Charter Academy recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of one student.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
