There were 227 Pacific Islander students enrolled in Copperas Cove ISD schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 227 Pacific Islander students enrolled in Copperas Cove ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Copperas Cove ISD schools welcomed 8,043 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 2.8% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Copperas Cove ISD roughly covers schools within Coryell County and has a main office in Copperas Cove.

Among the 11 schools in Copperas Cove ISD schools, Copperas Cove High School recorded the highest enrollment of Pacific Islander students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 56 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
