There were 2,239 white students enrolled in Lampasas County schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Lampasas County welcomed 3,740 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, white comprised 59.9% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the seven schools in Lampasas County, Lampasas High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 674 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
